This week’s Spotlight Thursday is “Build My Life” by Pat Barrett.

There’s such a great balance of support and leading that comes from the piano in this song. The way the piano supports the song and lifts the interlude into the bridge section of the song is amazing!

Finding that balance is hard to do for so many musicians. Some just want to constantly be in the background, far away from the spotlight. Other musicians (I’m looking at you, electric guitar players!) rarely ever shy away from the spotlight.
